FAQ

General Information

Waha festival is an annual celebration of music and arts, advocating for alternative lifestyles and embracing a carefree, youthful mindset. The festival is nested in the heart of nature, inviting participants to camp out and immerse themselves in the community spirit and the beauty of the natural surroundings. Celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, the festival introduces a special theme: FUSION. Expect stage setups and music genres that defy limits, fostering an expansion of consciousness.

The festival is located in Batanii Mari, Micfalau, Covasna, nestled in the heart of Romania. Situated in a secluded area, the festival grounds are surrounded by breathtaking nature, including lush forests and picturesque hilltops.

To participate in the festival, attendees must be at least 18 years old. Minors can attend under specific conditions: those under 14 receive free access when accompanied by a parent, while minors aged 14 to 18 must present a valid ticket and be accompanied by a parent. Additionally, grandparents over 60 enjoy free access.

All participants must comply with Romanian laws, refrain from bringing prohibited substances, weapons, or pyrotechnic materials, and maintain appropriate behaviour. Specific regulations include guidelines for waste disposal, fire prevention, and camping.

Waha festival unfolds over the course of a week, presenting an uninterrupted array of music, art, and activities. Opening its gates at 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 15th. The festival ends on Tuesday, August 20th, at 7:00 PM. All attendees are kindly requested to depart from the festival grounds by this time.

If participants find themselves unable to attend the festival due to unforeseen circumstances, we understand that plans can change. Closer to the festival date, from 15th of July to the 1st of August, we will enable ticket name-swap to accommodate such situations. It's important to note that name swaps can only be done once per ticket, so we advise participants to plan accordingly and make any necessary changes in advance to ensure a smooth and hassle-free experience.

Unfortunately there is no option to pay with card at Waha festival. Due to the lack of GSM signal in the festival area, we are unable to provide this payment option. We recommend that you bring enough cash to conduct your transactions efficiently and without any issues.

Inside Waha festival, we utilize a convenient payment system using wristbands equipped with chips. Participants can load money onto these wristbands and use them to make purchases at bars and food areas throughout the festival grounds.

No, please note that these wristbands are not accepted at shops, where cash payment is required.

At the conclusion of the festival, participants can request a refund for any remaining balance on their wristbands. This system offers ease and efficiency for transactions while ensuring flexibility and convenience for attendees.

Summers in Romania, particularly in August, are generally hot, with daytime temperatures often reaching up to 40 degrees Celsius. However, being in nature means that weather conditions can be unpredictable. Nights can be chilly, and occasional rain showers are not uncommon. Therefore, we recommend that participants come prepared with appropriate gear to accommodate any weather possibility. From lightweight clothing for hot days to layers and rain gear for cooler evenings and potential rain showers, it's essential to be equipped for various weather scenarios to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience at the festival.

At Waha festival, we prioritize environmental sustainability and waste management. Participants will be provided with free trash bags to collect their waste. We strongly advise separating recyclable materials such as glass, plastic, and metal, ensuring they are clean and not mixed together. Additionally, participants will find ashtrays provided at the entrance, and we kindly request that cigarette butts and any waste be disposed of responsibly and not littered on the land. Your cooperation in keeping our festival grounds clean and sustainable is greatly appreciated.

We highly encourage all participants to bring reusable cups and containers with them to Waha festival. By using reusable alternatives, such as cups and containers, you can help minimize waste and reduce your environmental footprint. These reusable items can be conveniently filled at the bars and food areas throughout the festival grounds. Thank you for joining us in our efforts to promote sustainability and environmental conservation.

Accommodation and Camping

Camping embodies the essence of the Waha experience, allowing attendees to immerse themselves in the nature surroundings while embracing the ethos of leaving no trace. It's advisable to come prepared with appropriate camping gear, keeping in mind that weather conditions may vary, so participants are encouraged to be prepared for any eventuality. Additionally, please note that camping outside designated areas is strictly prohibited.

Yes, camping at Waha Festival is free, as long as you have a valid ticket to attend the festival. As mentioned before, camping gear is not provided so you need to come prepared.

The festival offers shower and toilet facilities, prioritizing the comfort of all attendees. Participants are encouraged to use environmentally friendly cosmetics when utilizing these facilities, as part of our commitment to preserving nature.

Absolutely! Bringing your own camping gear is a must, as the festival does not provide any. Please remember to adhere to any guidelines provided by the festival for safety and environmental considerations.

While campfires are not permitted within the campsite for safety reasons, there are designated areas where the organizers host bonfires. These bonfires provide a cozy atmosphere where attendees can gather, dance around, and stay warm during chilly nights.

Yes, you are welcome to bring a campervan to the festival. However, please note that you will need to park it in the designated area, close to the parking spot. Unfortunately, the festival does not provide electricity, so if you require power, you will need to bring a generator or make your own arrangements.

We believe in making things easy and stress-free for our attendees, so you do not need to register your camper van in advance to secure a parking spot.  Our designated camper van area is spacious and ready to accommodate everyone with a campervan.

Entertainment & activities

At Waha festival, attendees can expect a diverse range of musical genres, including electronic music, psy, jam sessions, live performances, and chill music. This year's theme of FUSION promises unexpected lineups and stage arrangements that push boundaries, offering a truly eclectic and immersive musical experience.

Certainly! Waha fosters collaborative creativity especially at the Agora Jam stage, welcoming participants to join open jam sessions. Bring your own musical instruments and join in the creative flow!

Indeed! Within the Agora-Jam Stage and Luminish area, participants can engage in spiritual practices and join diverse group activities and workshops. Furthermore, down by the river lies the Art Labyrinth Tribe, where participants are welcomed to immerse themselves in a fusion of arts and tribal vibes.

The festival provides an array of wellness activities aimed at enhancing overall well-being, such as yoga, various meditations, breath sessions, men circle and woman circle, ecstatic dance and other holistic experiences. In the serene atmosphere of Luminish Area, attendees can immerse themselves in these offerings to rejuvenate mind, body, and spirit.

Families & kids

Absolutely! Waha caters to families, providing a designated area for kids' activities to ensure an enjoyable experience for all. Children under 14 receive complimentary access when accompanied by a parent, and grandparents over 60 also enjoy free entry. However, please note that kids cannot be left unattended, and the kids' area is not a place where you can simply leave your child for someone else to care for. Additionally, we kindly advise participants to use headphones for kids, as music levels may pose a risk to their delicate ears.

Children can partake in a variety of activities within their designated area, featuring games, crafts, and entertainment tailored to their age group. Moreover, this presents a wonderful opportunity for kids to immerse themselves in nature and gain a deeper understanding of the environment.

Minors under the age of 14 receive complimentary entrance to the festival when accompanied by a parent. Minors between the ages of 14 and 18 are welcome to attend when accompanied by a parent, but they will need to have a valid ticket. Additionally, grandparents over the age of 60 receive free entrance to the festival, providing an opportunity for them to spend quality time with the little ones.

Waha Kids provides a safe and engaging space for children to play, participate in activities, workshops, and even ecological education. However, it's important to note that children must be supervised at all times by a responsible adult. While our staff is dedicated to ensuring a positive experience for all attendees, they are not trained childcare professionals, and the number of staff members may not be sufficient to care for multiple children simultaneously. Therefore, parents or guardians are kindly requested not to leave their children unattended while at Waha Kids.

Communication & connectivity

There is no GSM signal within the festival venue. However, organizers encourage attendees to view this as an opportunity for a digital detox, allowing them to fully appreciate the natural surroundings without constant connectivity. It's a perfect chance to disconnect from the digital world and reconnect with one's inner self.

While there is no GSM signal at the festival venue, we encourage participants to stay connected within the community by being open to meeting new people and embracing the spirit of togetherness. In case of emergencies, heading closer to the gates may provide better reception. Additionally, there's an info point area within the festival where attendees can always seek assistance or information.
