Dancing in community: finding wholeness through the archetypes

Monica Vrăbiuță & Simona Schiau

In movement our bodies guide us towards what needs to be integrated, discovered and seen. When connecting through archetypes, through sound and movement, we realize that, unlike our mind, our body’s identity is not fixed. And as we go though these ways of being in the world, we are exploring what inside of us wants to move as a Shapshifter, what needs to be seen or held by the Mother and which part of our bodies respond the most to the Saboteur.

The playful dynamic of group movement and interaction allows the mind to relax as the subconscious is brought forward through movement and sound. We are literally detaching from the seriousness and constriction of our everyday lives through movement.

The juicy part of the practice is that we continue the workshop with a dance performance created into the spirit of Wahaland. We invite anyone and everyone that participates in our workshop to co-create this performance with us.

15:00-16:30

live

“Flowair Aboriginal” is a unique and innovative music project that combines the traditional

sounds of Aboriginal music with modern elements such as beatboxing and atmospheric

sounds created by flutes and vocals. The project aims to fuse these different elements into a seamless and harmonious blend, creating a new and exciting sound that is both traditional and contemporary.

The didgeridoo, a traditional Aboriginal instrument, plays a prominent role in the project,

providing a rhythmic foundation for the other sounds and elements. The use of beatboxing

adds a modern twist to the music, while the atmospheric sounds created by flutes and voices provide a unique and ethereal quality to the music.

“Flowair Aboriginal” is a captivating musical project that showcases a collection of songs

crafted by Brian Petermann over the past five years. Collaborating with talented artists such as Folclorescent, Dora Notărescu, and Alexandru Leonte, Brian has brought together a diverse range of musical influences. Many of these remarkable tracks have been

meticulously produced by the renowned Amala Label.

This project serves as an exciting prelude to Brian Petermann’s debut album, which revolves around the enchanting sounds of the didgeridoo – an ancestral instrument with deep cultural roots. Dance for Forest

Alexandra Girbea and Timea Kovacs

The Dance for Forest project honors an eco somatic perspective of dance in which we, people identify ourselves no more as owners of nature, nor as separable entities from the ecosystem, but as organic participants. We move and dance with a recognition that we are part of a complex, interconnected biological system.

We explore togetherness with nature through experiencing a large spectrum of possibilities in using our senses, through distancing from the dominance of gaining information through the eyes, opening up the kinesthetic and proprioceptive perception channels and aiming for democracy in using our senses.

Likewise we are investigating movement that engages the whole body, discovering the interconnectivity between the parts, exploring our motion patterns and learning new ways to move and be. Exploding and resting in nurturing dances.

17:00 – 18:00

Hula Hooping

Mara Gavrilescu

At the hula hooping workshops we explore both the hula hooping moves, but also how to achieve that state of flow, coordinate better and create small choreographies with the hoop on our own. At the beginning of the workshop we also do a small warm-up session and everything is set to music.

We will traverse topics such as joint articulations, mind and body awareness, coordination, creative movement, soft acrobatics & contact improvisation. This will be a space open for all movement enthusiasts.

20:30 – 21:50

Pantam Dance & Zeyla Tomlyn –  www.pantamdance.com

Concert

We are a world music project that combines the galactic sound of the handpan with an ethereal voice that resonates between heaven and earth.

We express ourselves through acoustic and electronic music, translated into a live performance designed to tune the audience to high frequencies.

We like to invite the audience into a context of magic where reality stops and the dream begins. A place where we express our great love for all that is.

Artur Pasecinic is the initiator of the vision, a self-taught virtuoso of the handpan, the instrument that reaches through its cosmic sounds straight to the soul.

Zeyla Tomlyn (ex Petra Acker) completes this multi-frequency vocal and percussive universe, she is also the band’s musical producer. Her diverse artistic background provides a creative environment that brings a lot of new inspiration to this context.

The two have discovered that they can just let the music happen. The pieces almost write themselves, creating an entirely original repertoire, while leaving plenty of room for improvisation and spontaneous interaction with the audience.

Renaquilla

dance performance

Aygül –  www.uploadinghappiness.center

In the night of the soul, Renaquilla wraps itself around the broken one. Her unifying spirit fusions the wounded one.

The energy of Renaquilla, the plant of Love and Harmony offered by the Amazonian Forest binds and strengthens our broken parts across the physical, emotional and spiritual realms.

She heals our heartbreaks, unlocks and liberates the deepest part of us. Her powerful teachings unify and connect us through forgiveness and love.

This is the dance of the Cosmic Wedding between the plant spirit & the human spirit. This communion brings us back into harmony with the natural world and our relationship to life.

It opens our hearts.

African (e)Motion

SuntVibrație (Cristina Tănăsescu)

African (e)Motion is a movement of sacred celebration. We celebrate ourselves on African rhythms, with everything that we are here and now. Open your heart to get inspired and to inspire back, african dances are about exchange, joy, the beauty of balance, harmony, playfulness, connection to Spirit and divine nature.

I will take you on a journey with me. Sharing with you my wisdom and everything the African culture has taught me so far: how to be in my body, how to be authentic, how to feel and celebrate everything that I am without naming it. It gives me the chance to be ME!

We will learn how to breathe through everything that we are, as the body is our ground and music is our guide. We will turn shame and fear into courage and joy. Be curious and learn how it feels to be YOU.

Your unique self, your authentic self. And remember to PLAY, play with music, play with your bodies, play with your hearts, play with everything you’re feeling, play with eachother. This is about the Unity in Community.

Don’t be afraid to use your unique voice—dance is about YOUR TRUTH, don’t be afraid to be magnetic and passionate ♥️

Kwathula – https://kwathula.bandcamp.com/

– live

Kwathula is a music project from Moldova in which we play meditative world music.

Our music comes from our hearts and it is for touching the hearts of others. It is music for relaxing and healing. Music to feel.

The main instruments we use include hang drum, calebash, flute, and vocals. In our first two albums, the didgeridoo was one of the main instruments too, and we are continuously experimenting with instruments and sounds. In our music, we also use instruments such as sansula, jew`s harp, darbuka, singing bowls, rainstick, and shamanic drum. In addition, in our “ideas which are waiting for realization”, there is a big universe of instruments close to us which we can play or intend to play.

We travel a lot and very often give street performances in different countries.
